Do you enjoy running? Would you like to train for a marathon or half-marathon? Do you enjoy meeting new people? Personal Best could be the place for you! We are a very welcoming group where runners of all abilities can feel comfortable.

Best Running Programs, LLC is a small company dedicated to helping
Kansas City area runners achieve personal running success. We offer group running programs that provide runners the opportunity to;

-- HAVE FUN!
Group runs take place on varied and interesting routes in the greater Kansas City area.
Free Saturday group runs this summer! Co-hosted with Metro Walk & Run
- FREE group runs every Saturday morning between June 13 and July 25
- "Show and go!"
- Distances up to 10 miles supported every Saturday
- Meet at Metro Walk & Run at 6:30 am (inside the Sports Medicine store on
the SW corner of 95th & Metcalf in Overland Park)
These free runs are open to ALL runners (over age 18). You do not need to sign up - Just show up!

Our Fall 2009 program will begin August 8th and continue through the end of October. This program will provide training for various Fall races including:
Chicago Marathon - Oct 11
Kansas City Marathon & Half-marathon - Oct 17
New York Marathon - Nov 1
Gobbler Grind Marathon & Half-marathon - Nov 22
Fitness running and shorter races will also be supported!!
Included in the program:
- Group runs every Saturday morning ("long" runs). The start times on Saturdays
vary depending on run distance that day, location, etc, but are typically between 6 am and 7 am.
- Weekday evening group runs (speed training)
- Free flexibility screening for each runner
- Free body fast measurement for each runner
- Free clinics on running-related topics
Our group runs are fully supported with maps, mile markers, corner markers, and aid stations (water,
Powerade, etc) every 2 miles. We meet in different locations around the city to keep it interesting.
We provide training schedules, handouts, clinics and on-going coaching.
Entries are limited to the first 125 registrations. This facilitates personalized coaching for all.
The cost is $120 (includes everything!)

Who We Are

Founded in 1993, Personal Best is a labor of love for Steve and Cynthia Hinman. They saw a need in the Kansas City area for a structured running/marathon training group. Steve and Cynthia have trained over 1,800 people to complete marathons -- for many their first marathon. Steve is a licensed Physical Therapist and Personal Trainer. He has coached adult runners, triathletes, cyclists and strength athletes for over 25 years.
